• Pros and cons of childhood smartphone use. Phones are a basic necessity for a lot of families. If you are in the process of deciding whether or not it's time to let your child(ren) have a smartphone, the pros and cons should help you make an informed decision.
• Pros and cons of online gameplay. Online gameplay is the new "hanging out with friends", and it's not going anywhere. The global gaming industry is worth 152 BILLION dollars. Gaming is here to stay, and I want to make sure you know how to keep your child(ren) safe in gameplay, in chat rooms and on the servers people will invite your child(ren) to while playing.
• An inside scoop on the most popular apps your child may be using. Although I'm sure you know a lot about phones and apps, I want to make sure you know what really goes on and how to protect your child(ren) and yourself from exposure to the wrong people and things.
• What your child's phone may be hiding... and how to find it. Children are very good at learning how to hide things - mainly because they do not want to get in trouble with you or exposed by a "frenemy". I will show you what they hide, how to find it, and how to educate them about privacy and boundaries when it comes to their phone and its contents.
• How online predators find out where you live, work and play... and where your children go to school. Send me a certain type of message, and I can tell you where you live, who you are related to, and possibly where you work. I'll show you how when you sign up, and I'll also show you how to make sure it doesn't happen when your child sends these types of messages!
• How to secure your child's device and mobile online activity. Whether you have an iOS device or an Android, I will show you everything you need to know about securing your devices - not just for your child(ren), but for your whole family and village!
• The five most important conversations you can have with your child regarding online safety. This is the most important section, because everything else means very little if you don't know what you should be talking about in relationship with your child(ren). Relationship is paramount when it comes to keeping children safe.

I specialize in suicide prevention, and my complementary areas of expertise are anti-bullying and cyber safety. I teach you how to safeguard your child's digital life by providing you with the guidance and resources you need to understand what happens online. With my help, you will gain the skills and knowledge to advocate for your child(ren) and protect them from cyberbullying, child predators and other online threats. An overwhelming majority of the things that happen to tweens and teens in the physical world start in the digital world. The internet is a wild place, but I AM here to make sure that as we navigate these digital streets together, your tween/teen remains safe! I look forward to working with you!
I LOVED IT!!!!!! Girl so much knowledge. We’re incredibly close with our son and talk opening about many things. He’s responsible and definitely could benefit from a phone. Your class brought to my attention some things to be aware of that I wouldn’t think (like the hidden stuff...)
